This is the second hand held vacuum sealer we’ve owned and by far the best when it comes to suction power and speed of use. We have not tried the bags that came with the unit but are very happy with the Syntus brand of bags, also sold on Amazon. Never a problem with leakage, both in the freezer or sous vide.
A couple of tips: For freezing liquids such as soups, allow the liquid to cool, pour it into the bag and seal the open end. Place it flat in the freezer until it is frozen and then vacuum the air out of it. No more liquids being sucked into the machine. Likewise, if freezing steaks or other meats, we freeze the meat before we vacuum. Otherwise the vacuum will squeeze the juices out of raw meat. If used for sous vide, don’t forget to add your bag weights before you seal.

I had a full deep freezer. After using this gem, HALF of my deep freeze is available again. Meat, open bags of frozen veggies….I can see what’s in it, it’s lying flat (as flat as it can be anyways). Corn dogs-why do they need such a big box when you can put them in a bag and zap the air? These bags seem expensive but the quality is great. Thick-not thin and didn’t break one despite sealing about 40 lbs of chicken quarters, corn dogs, roasts, hamburger meat and veggies. The only time I had a sealing issue, I double checked the seal on the ziplock portion and found I had missed a tiny tiny spot. The suction isn’t super quick-just steady. If you are looking for quick-this may not be the product for you. If you are looking for easy, dependable, space saving-this is perfect. If you think you don’t need it-are you in a an apartment with a traditional freezer? I could get a 10 lb bag of quarters to essentially lay flat in a standard freezer. Either that or break up in small packs and stack them. You don’t have to buy in bulk to use this.

I am someone who loves the idea of vacuum sealing but I have had traditional ones previously… and well I have ADHD and there’s just too many steps that I never use it and half the time can’t seal it correctly to make a bag. Saw this on an ad forever ago, finally really needed a vacuum sealer and got this. I LOVE THIS! The fact I don’t have to cut my own bags… chefs kiss. The zipper seal to close it at the top is also great and easy to close. It definitely vacuum seals it… compared to traditional models I suck at this is perfect. The seal, suction and power is great. Only complaint is two of the bags that came with the sealer ripped/were already ripped so the bag durability seems questionable but overall I’m totally satisfied with this.

I have used this several times and it seems to be working fine. I have also checked to make sure the bags did not lose seal in freezer and refrigerator. So far so good. The only thing I’m concerned about is the reviews that you cannot get liquid inside the sealing valve or it will stop working. I’m not sure how you can guarantee this but just have to be careful. The other issue is the cost of the dishes (glass) and the bags.

I love this little sealer. I had the big bulky food saver took up too much space. Well I used it all the time. Then it decided to stop working. What happen it worked like it usually does. It stop working so I charged it. Then I used it it stop. I put it up. But it decided to come back on. Well it stayed on until it stop. I couldn’t get it to work after that. The moter died. Well they have a great customer services. I told them what my issue was. And the sent me a new one. I bought it last July 2025. I think that’s the greatest services I got from a company. So far, so good! I just got this home and used it to seal and freeze a couple of ribeye steaks. We had some fresh, but couldn’t cook up all of them. The Chef Preserve came pretty well charged (only took ten minutes to top it off). The small bags were the perfect size. The sealer was very easy to use, and very quiet. It took all of 10 seconds to fully seal each bag. I put them in the freezer 3 days ago, and looked at them today. They still look perfectly red and thick, and when I thaw them, I think they are going to be perfect. Can’t wait to find more uses for this handy gadget!

i have been using the chef preserve for over 6 months now. it is FANTASTIC! I have strawberries in the glass container for going on 6 days now and they look and tastes like i just bought them today! my avocados dont even start to turn brown until after 10 days, and even then not totally brown. (i leave the pit in and cover with syran wrap before putting it in the preserve bag.) i wash the bags, glass containers, and tops in the dishwasher. the only bad thing that has happened is that i stored broccoli in the bag and even though the broccoli still looked fine, when i opened the bag after about 8-9 days the smell was so strong that i couldnt get the smell out of the bag after multiple washings, so dont leave cruciferous veggies in the bags too long! other than that, keeps everything fresh looking and tasting and i def recommend this to others and have gifted them too. it does go on sale frequently so wait for it. also, my husband purchased the extra large glass container (directly from the chef preserve website- not available on amazon) and it took a very long time to come – almost 6 weeks. but when it finally did arrive it was a really nice big size and holds up to 2 heads of lettuce, among other things.

I live alone and travel a ton, so i often have restaurant leftovers or additional portions from family-sized food purchases. Now, rather than tossing expensive food when it expires (or eating leftovers for 4 days) I’m keeping food fresh with this vacuum sealer.
It’s been so usefu i’ve moved from just using it for frozen food to keeping perishables fresher in the fridge. For example, I now “vacuum pack” the other half of a bagel in the fridge and find it’s still spongey and fresh 3 days later when I’m ready to eat it.
The device itself is easy to use and powerfully compact. With cabinet space at a premium, this was a real win!
The storage bags are a little pricey but so far they’ve proven very durable, and I’m able to reuse them several times. Because I worry about cross contamination and don’t love washing plastic bags, I find it best to wrap gooier foods like raw burgers and poultry in plastic wrap before popping them in the bag to seal. This probably offers a little more protection from freezer burn and makes cleaning the bags tons easier.

I saw this sealer at my sister’s. I have a large vacuum sealer for big jobs but ordered this one for the convenience and ease of use. It is a convenient size and very easy to use. It is good for sealing things like blocks of cheese, lunch meat, just about anything you would put in a zip bag but want to keep fresh and use fairly often. This is probably one of the best purchases that I’ve made in a long time. I can’t tell you how many 1/2 avocados I have thrown away.
